Welcome to our new students!

Great work today!

Joanna
Welcome to our class! Today you went through two lessons already. In lesson one, you learned about the high and low notes. Lesson 2 taught you where middle C is. After your lessons with Mr. Beethoven and Miss. Melody you played two games in the game room.

Kennedy
Today you were on Lesson 10! You need to finish your practice class with Miss. Melody before going on to Lesson 11 with your new teacher Mr. Joplin.

Erin
Sorry you were sick today. You will be doing lesson 13 next week! See you then!

Taylor

You finished Lesson 12 today and then went on to Lesson 13. Wow!

Cameron
You completed Lesson 13 today.

In Lessons 12 and 13 we are focusing on the proper hand position and finger numbering. It is important to keep your hands still in your "ant tunnel" hand position. This makes playing the songs much easier.

Ocean View Elementary 3-6 Wk 1 (Lesson 9)

Welcome back everyone!

We had a great start back into the term this week. You are now getting ready for the assessment which is coming up on our 10th lesson on week 3 of the new term.

Here is what we did in class:
  • note and rest values
  • clef review
  • notes on the staff
  • practice drawing musical notes, rests, clefs
  • practice written test
*study tip* remember that the notes on the staff in the treble clef and the notes on the staff in the bass clef are not the same. You need to check your clef before deciding what the note name is. If you need help the saying for the bass clef lines is: "Good- Boys- Deserve- Fudge- Always"
the spaces are "All-Cows-Eat-Grass"

We reviewed the following songs. You will be choosing 2 from this list to play for me. Each song will be marked out of 10 points.

Ocean View Elementary P-2 Wk 1 (Lesson 9)

Those of you who made it to class today, welcome back!

I spent the class reviewing to freshen up after the Christmas holidays. We reviewed Lesson 12 with Mr.Joplin. You now should remember that our fingers are numbered 1-2-3-4-5. Also, remember the perfect hand position (think of the ant tunnels)
Colby and Nathan, you both started your new lesson 13 with Mr. Joplin.

Next week I hope all will be in class and we can go on to finish Lesson 13.

See you then!

Maple Tree Montessori Wk 1 (Lesson 7)

Hello again!

We're starting our new term now! This week in class we went on to Lesson 5 with Mr. Beethoven and Miss. Melody. These lessons were review for us before starting with our new teacher Mr. Bach.

We were taught some new word rhythm claps such as "Fish cannot go for walks" and "pickled ice cream tastes bad."

Can't wait to see you next week with Mr. Bach!
