Welcome! I was excited to see a large response to this class. I think you are all going to enjoy the next couple of months learning how to play piano.
This week was mostly an introduction class and a chance for me to get to know you and what you know about music. We drew pictures illustrating what we know and like about music. Everyone has great knowledge about music notation, and varieties of instruments. I hope you will all get a chance someday to learn other instruments other than piano if you haven't already.
This week we learned about proper posture at the piano as well as how to place our hands on the keyboard. We got up to lesson 1-3 "Pitch Notation and Time" and next week we will be learning the notes on the keyboard and staff to be able to play our first song.
You are all wonderful students and I look forward to getting to know you.

Ocean View Elementary 3-6 Wk 1
Welcome everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your first experience using piano suite.
You all learned a great deal of information on your first day and I am very proud of your success in just the first day.
Here is what we accomplished:
Finished up to Lesson 1-1 "The Treble of "G" clef" Topic 5-02
We all started Topic 05 page 03 Exercise 01 " Frere Jacques"
Some started T. 05 Pg. 05 Ex 01 "When the Saints"
Eat lots of Turkey this weekend and I will see you again on the 15th.

Hello Everyone!
You all did very well coming to the music room to eat your lunches today.
Most students seem to have a piano or keyboard at home or at a relatives home. This is great news and I hope you will get a chance to show off your piano skills to your family as often as possible.
Today we learned who the composer Beethoven was and he taught us about our highs and lows in the lesson room.
Miss. Melody then helped us practice our highs and lows on the keyboard.
We finished with two games which you all did very well on and seemed to have fun with.

Mount Edward Elementary 3-6 Week 1
What a wonderful class to start off the semester! This week we learned all the notes and we able to play our first song. I can tell you are all going to be concert pianists in no time. It was great to see how many of you have a piano at home. I will be posting a review of our lessons each week so that you will be able to practice before our next class.

What a great start this week!
You should all be very proud how much you've learned in just one day.
This week we completed all of Lesson 1 which focused on the high and low notes of the keyboard.
We learned all about the composer Beethoven and that his music was performed in concert halls over 200 years ago, and is still played today. We also found out that Beethoven was different from the other composers becuase he started to loose his hearing. However, this did not stop him from sharing his talent with the world and composing new music.
We met Beethoven in the lesson room and he introduced us to the high/low notes and shared one of his compositions with us "Minuet in G"
Miss Melody helped us practice Beethoven's lesson and then we played two games incorporating highs and lows to end the class. I think you all enjoyed the pirate game the best.
I will see you in 2 weeks on Monday the 15th.
